It has been snowing and blowing, winter is here. The snow is supposed to be here for most of the week. The accumulation for today was about 1 to 2 inches. Work has been slow and will continue to be, we can only hope it will pick up. Eric stayed with me for a couple of days, he seems to have had communication problems with his signicant other, he is trying to work things out but, he will be back. I'm survivng just like the rest of the nation and I hope my financial status stabilizes.
One can only be positive and have a sense of humor these days.

Thanksgiving eve, November 26, 2008.

It is Thanksgiving eve and I'm in my element; cooking. I've made the cranberry conserve, pecan pie in the oven, prepared the ingredients for the turkey, and I'm really enjoying it! Work has been an ever worry but I thank the higher powers for surving every single day! We all worry about our jobs and can only be thankful we have jobs. Am really looking forward to tomorrow and seeing my dear friend Linda. It will be a day of good fellowship, delicious food, and a great time! I'm so very thankful for everything!

November 21, 2008, Friday.

It is Friday and it was pay day as well. We have to do what we have to do.
There is still the underlying thread of layoffs, I wouldn't want to be in the
position of my manager. I rely on the higher powers to take care of me and
keep me safe. Am looking forward to Thanksgiving, I have to work the day
and Saturday after to which I am thankful. There was a big wind last night
and it was scary. I have this weekend off and I hope I can get a ride in along
with rest and chores. It is important to be patient and have hope.

November 18, 2008, Tuesday.

Today was another day at the salt mines. We are all worried about our jobs and thank god we have jobs, no matter how many or little hours we work; I am very grateful for my job. I don't know which direction I'm supposed to go but I know higher powers will lead and direct me in the right path for me. I get frustrated and angry at times because I want to know where I belong but, patience and understanding always rule out. Eric and Clay are doing well and I am very happy about that, I am very blessed for wonderful childre, friends,and family.

November 16, 2008, Sunday.

Indeed it is Sunday, time for football and catching up on chores that didn't get done during the week. I'm sitting here blogging and waiting for the laundry to get done. I had to work on Saturday and gained a few hours. There is still the underlying fear of being laid off at work and it has been slow, perhaps it's a wait and see thing. It is a blessing to be alive and suviving. No word from Eric so I guess he's doing well, hopefully things work out at Dillards. Clay is doing well and loving school.

November 13, 2008, Thursday.

It is indeed Thursday, same old same old at work. We are awaiting word as to what will be happening over Thanksgiving. Last year we were closed on Friday and Saturday and it might be the same for this year, nothing has been said as of yet. One of our favorite customers came in and expressed his concern about the end of time. This gentleman is a gideon and is a lovely person and it was interesting to hear his point of view about his belief and how he feels about "The Rapture". Another favorite customer came in and bought all of us Chinese food; we love him to death, not because he buys us lunch but because he is a lovely person. I didn't see Eric today and payday is tomorrow so, I probably won't see him for awhile.
